UPDATE: The traffic lights are now reported to be functioning normally. Commuters face travel chaos this morning due to traffic light failure at a busy Stoke-on-Trent junction. The lights are not working on the A500 Queensway at A52 Shelton Old Road / A5006 Stoke Road (Stoke Road Interchange). This is the main junction near to Stoke Railway Station – reports suggest that up to 10 sets of lights around the junction may have failed, according to traffic data company INRIX. Police and the council are at the scene – and motorists are being asked to find alternative routes. A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “We are aware of the issues affecting the traffic lights at the Shelton Old Road Interchange with the A500. “We are on scene and working with local authority partners to resolve the issue. last_img
