2008 WHS grad Arielle (Horsch) Raycene scheduled to be on FOX’s ‘Beat the Champions’

first_imgby Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — It might be considered the worst kept secret in Wellington at the moment, but Arielle (Horsch) Raycene, a 2008 WHS graduate, is scheduled to be on the new Fox show, “Beat the Champions” which is scheduled to air Tuesday, June 30 at 8 p.m. which is Channel 4 on your Sumner Cable listings.The former Wellington Sailfish, who at one time owned six swim team records, is expected to participate in a forthcoming special on Fox – based on a Japanese format – in which amateur and champion athletes square off in a series of bizarre challenges.“I’m not allowed to say,” said Kat Weller, associate producer of Beat The Champions, FOX TV when contacted by Sumner Newscow today. “If I say anything I’ll be fined a gazillion dollars.”However, Weller did contact Wellington Swim Team president Jenoa Lynnes, asking for pictures of Raycene during her swim team days in Wellington and from White’s understanding Raycene might be racing Missy Franklin, Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer.In the show, Franklin, NFL player Rob Gronkowski and basketball player Scottie Pippen will be handed “absurd and hilarious” handicaps while they compete against amateurs, who are given help in beating the champs.However, the more assistance an amateur requires, the less prize money – up to $100,000 – will be awarded. The special will be hosted by Saturday Night Live alumnus Finesse Mitchell. Sumner Newscow has attempted to contact Raycene for this story, but has not been successful in doing so.During her years in Wellington, Horsch owned several Sailfish records as an 11-12 year old. She held the 50 free, 100 free, 50 back, 50 breast, 50 fly, 200 IM and 200 free relay.Since then, Horsch, now Raycene, would go on to study Broadcast Journalism at Arizona State University and eventually received her Bachelors of Arts in broadcast journalism from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in Phoenix, Ariz. She now lives in Los Angeles. According to her IMDB resume here,  Raycene she has been involved in several films both leading and supporting.
